1. Are all technicians wearing appropriate PPE for their current task — including safety footwear, eye protection, and gloves — at the time of the audit?
2. Is PPE available in sufficient quantity and in good condition, with damaged items replaced and no technician required to share safety-critical PPE?
3. Are vehicle lifts inspected and certified per the applicable OSHA standard and manufacturer requirement, with current inspection records on file?
4. Are lift operating limits (rated load capacity, maximum lift height, vehicle positioning requirements) posted on or adjacent to each lift, with technicians trained on correct operation?
5. Are welding and cutting operations conducted in a designated area with local exhaust ventilation, with adequate protection for nearby personnel from UV radiation and fumes?
6. Is welding fume extraction confirmed as effective for the fumes generated by the materials being welded (steel, aluminium, coated materials), with LEV maintained and tested?
7. Are isocyanate-containing products (two-part paint systems, adhesives) identified, with supplied-air respirators or half-face respirators with P100/OV cartridges used — not dust masks — by all personnel in the spray area?
8. Are chromium-containing products (some primers) identified and workers equipped with NIOSH-approved respiratory protection appropriate for chromium exposure?
9. Are sanding dust exposure controls in place — LEV, wet sanding, or respiratory protection — appropriate for the dust-generating task and material?
10. Is chemical exposure managed in compliance with OSHA's Hazard Communication Standard (29 CFR 1910.1200), with SDS available and communicated for all hazardous chemicals in use?
