1. Is the customer greeted within the defined standard time on arrival at the body shop reception, with a warm and professional welcome that acknowledges the stress of having been in an accident?
2. Is the accident or damage event documented accurately — date, location, circumstances — at the point of intake, using the customer's own description rather than a technician's assumption?
3. Is a structured vehicle walkaround conducted with the customer at intake, noting all pre-existing damage separately from the current damage, with photographs taken from all angles?
4. Is customer insurance information (insurer name, policy number, claim number) recorded at intake for insurance claims, with the customer's excess or liability position confirmed?
5. Is a clear explanation provided to the customer covering the repair process, next steps, and an indicative timeline before they leave the vehicle?
6. Is the customer informed of the estimate timeline — when they can expect to receive a repair cost estimate — and given a named point of contact for their repair?
7. Is an authority-to-proceed for the estimate (as distinct from authority-to-repair) obtained from the customer, confirming they authorise the dismantling required to complete the assessment?
8. Is the vehicle condition at intake documented on the job card including fuel level, personal belongings noted and returned, and child seat presence confirmed?
9. Is the customer offered information about courtesy car or hire car arrangements, with booking initiated at intake where required?
10. Are the customer's contact preferences (phone, email, SMS) recorded at intake to ensure all repair updates are sent through the customer's preferred channel?
