1. Is the estimation conducted using the approved estimating system, with every identified damage item entered individually rather than estimated as a lump sum?
2. Is the damage assessment conducted after visual inspection and — where required — after partial dismantling to expose damage not visible externally?
3. Is hidden damage explicitly identified on the estimate as a potential supplement, with the customer informed that the final cost may increase once the vehicle is fully dismantled?
4. Is labour time calculated using the estimating system's standard time data for the vehicle make and model — not manually estimated without reference to standard data?
5. Is the correct repair method (repair, replace, or straighten) selected for each panel based on the damage extent and OEM guidelines, not defaulting to replacement for all damaged panels?
6. Is the paint material cost calculated based on the actual paint process required — primer, colour, clear coat — with refinish time consistent with the estimating system's guidance?
7. Are parts required for the repair priced at current list price from the OEM parts system, with part numbers confirmed before the estimate is finalised?
8. Is a pre-repair photograph of every damaged area included in the estimate file, cross-referenced to the relevant estimate line?
9. Is the estimate reviewed for completeness by a senior estimator or body shop manager before submission to the customer or insurer, covering labour, parts, paint, and sublet?
10. Is the customer's approval of the estimate obtained in writing before any repair work is authorised to begin?
