1. Is every engine family or vehicle test group certified by the EPA under the applicable emissions standard (Tier 3, CAFE/GHG, or relevant heavy-duty standard) before any vehicle or engine is introduced into US commerce?
2. Are Certificates of Conformity (CoC) issued by the EPA for all engine families or test groups in the current model year product range, with certificates on file and available for inspection?
3. Is the EPA certification data system (MyCDX or equivalent) used to submit and manage certification applications, with application records and EPA correspondence retained?
4. Are production vehicles confirmed as conforming to the certified test group — through quality audits or production conformity testing — so that vehicles in commerce match the certified design?
5. Is the Selective Enforcement Audit (SEA) process understood, and is the manufacturer prepared to respond to an SEA request by providing test vehicles within the required timeframe?
6. Is the emissions label affixed to every certified vehicle in the location required by EPA regulations, containing the required information (model year, engine displacement, certification level, evaporative system)?
7. Is the EV and PHEV credit system (for applicable model years) managed and tracked, with credit generation and credit transactions reported accurately in the compliance system?
8. Are GHG and fuel economy certification data submitted to the EPA and NHTSA on the required schedule, with model-year compliance assessments completed before the annual filing deadline?
9. Is the emissions warranty coverage (2 years/24,000 miles for short-term and 8 years/80,000 miles for major emission control components) communicated accurately in the owner documentation?
10. Are field emissions complaints and warranty claims for emissions-related components tracked, with patterns reviewed for potential compliance implications?
