1. Was the EV charging station installation carried out by a qualified and licensed electrical contractor, with a completion certificate and inspection report on file?
2. Is the earthing and bonding installation for all EV chargers verified as compliant with the applicable local electrical standard, confirmed in the installation certificate?
3. Is an emergency stop function (physical button or remote cutoff) available for the EV charging station, tested at the required interval, and accessible without obstruction?
4. Are charging cables and connectors inspected at the required frequency for signs of damage — cuts, exposed conductors, overheating marks, damaged locking mechanisms — with defective cables removed immediately?
5. Are cable management systems (retractors, hooks, ground guides) in place to prevent charging cables from lying across pedestrian routes or vehicle paths?
6. Is EV charging station signage compliant — including hazard warnings, connection type identification, usage restrictions, and emergency contact information?
7. Is the charging station area free from combustible materials, accumulated dirt, and water ingress that could create a fire or shock risk?
8. Is access to the charging station area managed during periods when the site is closed, preventing unauthorised or unsupervised use outside operating hours?
9. Are fire extinguishers appropriate for electrical fires available within the charging station area, with staff trained on their use?
10. Is an inspection and maintenance schedule in place for all charging station components, covering visual inspection, electrical safety testing, and software updates at defined intervals?
