1. Is the vehicle confirmed as eligible for import under EPA regulations before the import transaction is completed, using the EPA's eligibility criteria for the specific engine/vehicle type?
2. Is an EPA Form 3520-1 (Declaration for Imported Motor Vehicles and Engines) completed accurately for every vehicle imported, with the correct exemption box or conforming vehicle declaration?
3. For non-conforming vehicles imported for conversion to US specifications, is the Registered Importer bond posted and the 120-day conversion deadline confirmed and managed?
4. Are vehicles imported under the Show or Display exemption confirmed as meeting the low-volume, historical significance, and technical criteria before the exemption is applied?
5. Are racing vehicles imported under the competition use exemption confirmed as used exclusively for competition and not operated on public roads?
6. Are importation records (EPA declarations, EPA acceptance confirmation, conversion completion records for non-conforming vehicles) retained for the minimum period required?
7. Is the EPA import prohibition for high-emitting or non-compliant vehicles understood, with no vehicle imported that does not have a compliant pathway to US market entry?
8. Are heavy-duty vehicles and engines imported under the correct EPA classification — confirming whether light-duty or heavy-duty standards apply based on GVWR and intended use?
9. Are recreational vehicles (motorcycles, ATVs, snowmobiles) imported under the correct EPA nonroad engine standard, with the applicable certification confirmed?
10. Is the import compliance process reviewed when new vehicle or engine types are added to the import portfolio, confirming the applicable standard and importation pathway?
