1. Is a pre-inspection of the battery conducted before any handling or removal, documenting the battery's physical condition (damage, deformation, leakage, smell) with photographs?
2. Is the vehicle's HV system isolated using the documented OEM-specific isolation procedure before battery handling begins, with voltage verified as zero and documented on the job card?
3. Is battery lifting and movement carried out using OEM-specified lifting equipment or jigs, with no improvised lifting methods used regardless of battery weight or access difficulty?
4. Are technicians handling the battery wearing the correct PPE (HV gloves, face protection, chemical-resistant apron) for the battery type and handling task?
5. Is a battery damage assessment completed using the OEM's battery inspection criteria, with specific attention to structural deformation, cell venting evidence, and connector damage?
6. Are batteries with confirmed or suspected damage quarantined in the designated damaged battery storage area immediately, with the quarantine reason documented?
7. Is the damaged battery storage area located away from combustible materials and building exits, with appropriate fire suppression equipment readily accessible?
8. Is battery temperature monitored before and during handling, with handling deferred if the battery temperature is outside the OEM-specified safe handling range?
9. Is battery storage temperature in the workshop maintained within the OEM-specified range for both short-term (hours) and longer-term (days) storage situations?
10. Are batteries awaiting replacement, collection, or disposal stored in the correct orientation as specified by the OEM, with terminal covers fitted and securing points used?
